Is GB News planning to branch out into music?

With Reform UK planning to lavish its newfound crypto millions on its own TV channel, GB News has quietly taken steps to expand its own operations – by branching out into music radio.

All Perspectives, the parent firm of the hard right broadcaster, has just filed a trademark application for the brand name ‘GB Music Radio’ with the Intellectual Property Office (IPO).

The trademark application spans four classes of goods, including the provisions of “multimedia content via a subscription service” and “text and data whether in real or delayed time including radio or television programmes and via social media platforms on [the] internet”, among others.

The application, filed on September 21 and due to be considered by the IPO, is the seventh application made by All Perspectives regarding GB News to the office. The others include the channel’s name, logo and slogan ‘Britain’s News Channel’, all filed between 2020 and 2024.

Does the application mean we will soon hear the likes of DJ Matt Goodwin spinning the platters that matter on a GB News-branded music radio station? How many times a day will he have to play The Clash’s White Riot? And will Nigel Farage host a slot?

The dear leader whinged earlier this year about having never been invited on to Desert Island Discs, though when asked by the Observer in 2015 what music he likes, he said: “None. I don’t listen to music, I don’t watch television, I don’t read.”

All Perspectives, incorporated at Companies House in 2019, is due to file financial figures for the six months to December 31, 2025 in November, having shortened its accounting year from 12 months to six in August.

Its most recent figures, however – for the year to May 31, 2025 – painted a grim commercial picture compared with Farage’s £72 million war chest. All Perspectives recorded a £26.6 million loss on a £26.2 million turnover, with its accumulated losses climbing to £149.7 million and total equity down to -£27.5 million. Perhaps losing Farage from its wage bill, were he to decide to jump ship entirely to Reform’s new TV channel, will help stem the losses!

Meanwhile, Reform’s most recent application to the IPO was in 2024, when it applied to register the rather dated slogan ‘Reform UK the Brexit Party’ for “mugs, badges, t-shirts, events and public lobbying services”, among others.
