Lee Harris, a self-styled “political commentator and digital content creator” who is regularly employed by GB News to speak his brains across its talk shows, has been getting very exercised by the decision of Andy Burnham to go ahead with a family holiday this week despite now being prime minister.
“Imagine becoming prime minister of the United Kingdom and two weeks later taking a holiday,” he fumed on, inevitably, X. “We are not a serious country. This is utterly unacceptable.”
Later that day he was at it again, writing: “I work for myself – anyone who does this knows taking a holiday is really difficult.

“I’ve literally just had my first holiday in two years because it’s been so busy. We only went for 7 days. He’s the f*cking prime minister. Absolute insanity.”
Later again that very same again he returned to the same subject, utilising his skills as a ‘digital content creator’ to post a piss-poor AI image of Burnham in Downing Street in Hawaiian shirt and clutching a case embossed with ‘HOLIDAY MODE’ lest anyone missed the point Harris was making.
“Security services: ‘Mr Burnham, we now have confirmation that terrorists are coming across on small boats.’,” he posted. “We’ve just foiled 20 lethal attacks, but we know there are more in the country… Mr Burnham…? Prime minister this is incredibly serious. Are you there?”.
And the following day he was on the YouTube show of Mike Graham, the axed former Talk presenter, banging on about the PM taking a break. “Andy Burnham is now prime minister of the United Kingdom, the most important job in the country,” he told his perma-furious host.

Meanwhile, how did Harris react in August 2020 when his hero, then PM Boris Johnson, was discovered to be in a remote cottage in the Scottish Highlands while Westminster was wrestling with the fiasco surrounding Covid-hit A-level results?
“Anyone else find this whole ‘where’s Boris’ a bit creepy?,” he fulminated on what was then Twitter. “He went ON HOLIDAY you utter dipshits!”, he added, with a ‘head in hands’ emoji.
