Young Joseph Boam is unaccountably still viewed as a rising star of Reform, despite being sacked as Leicestershire county council’s deputy leader for being hopeless, then posting “I STAND WITH ICE” on his X account following the fatal shooting of 37-year-old intensive care nurse Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
Now the 23-year-old has delivered a unique interpretation of a district council by-election, held on Thursday, October 1, at which Boam led campaigning to “get my friend Charles Pugsley elected”.
After the results came in, Boam posted a long message on social media with the headline “How Reform UK won the Long Whatton and Diseworth by-election”. Boam called it “A huge WIN. That changes the look of this ward” and added a gold trophy emoji.
Yet Reform UK did not win the Long Whatton and Diseworth by-election. Tory Craig Smith did, with 576 votes, 55 per cent of the total cast. Pugsley came a poor second with 204 votes.
None of this stopped the idiotic Boam claiming victory, or as he put it, “We did not win the seat. We won the day.” He later added an AI-generated photo of another gold trophy and the slogan “Reform were the real victors”, promising that Nigel Farage’s party would take the council next year. “It will be big. It will be beautiful,” he wrote.
The clownish Joseph Boam is unlikely to ever become an MP. But with logic and comments like that, he stands a good chance of one day being president of the USA.
