Reform’s farting racist councillor is another embarrassment for Nigel Farage

There is little shortage of complete arses and total bums in Reform – but one councillor has taken things too far.

The Lancashire Telegraph has blamed flamboyant Blackburn with Darwen council member Andy Mahon for farting disrespectfully during a meeting.

Journalist Will Morgan reported that Mahon had been “wearing a distinctive leopard print fedora and matching tie paired with a safari jacket, an outfit which would not have looked out of place in the Serengeti.”

But even that brilliant description paled next to angry quotes in the chamber from rival councillor Tasleem Fazal, who told the mayor: “What I do take issue with is the decorum in here of late and especially this evening.

“I’ll tell you what I really take issue with: somebody lifting their arse cheeks higher than my mic in my direction, and blowing their arse out like we’re at school. I was really worried about shrapnel if he gets it wrong.”

Mahon was elected to represent the Blackburn South East ward in May after surviving a scandal over his social media posts. He had written about his support for British fascist Oswald Mosley and extremist Enoch ‘Rivers of Blood’ Powell, saying “Oswald was right 100%” and “Powell was 100% correct”.

He also used the n-word and made homophobic remarks about Wes Streeting and sexist comments about Angela Rayner and Green MP Hannah Spencer, but Nigel Farage declined to dump him because of what Reform called his right to free speech.
