Has Elon Musk got Talarico Derangement Syndrome?

The X owner has been filling his every waking moment posting bile about the Democratic Senate nominee for Texas

“Trump derangement syndrome” is real, Elon Musk said in a Fox News interview last year, comparing the reaction of liberals to hearing the president’s name to their being “shot with a dart in the jugular that contained methamphetamine and rabies”.

“There’s this whole sort of, you know, they call it like Trump Derangement Syndrome. You don’t realise how real this is until, like… it’s like you can’t reason with people,” mused the famously reasonable former head of Trump’s DOGE unit.

But is Musk himself suffering from a severe case of another TDS – Talarico Derangement Syndrome? Because in recent weeks and months, the X owner has been using his own platform to apparently fill his every waking hour with fulminating against the Democratic Senate nominee for Texas in November’s midterms.

Having apparently never given a second thought to Talarico prior to August 22, Musk has been posting incessantly about him ever since, beginning with the claim that day that “Talarico wants to enable voting fraud in Texas by banning voter ID”.

He has since followed that up with posts claiming that Talarico “is hiding something big that voters ought to know about”, “hates Texas” (on numerous occasions), “is a creep” (again, several times), is “pure evil” and “would vote to take away your kids and transition them, not just in Texas, but nationwide”.

He has also claimed, without any context whatsoever, that “there is something deeply wrong with Talarico” (once again, many, many times), that he “hates Texas and America”, he “supports voting fraud”, he “wants to trans your kids and destroy the border” and that he is “just a puppet that sometimes doesn’t work properly, but his puppet masters are quite smart”.

Talarico is also, in the wild world of Musk’s head, “a far left extremist” (several times), “lunatic left” and sometimes “a FAR LEFT extremist”. In fact, Musk has posted about Talarico more times than anybody or anything else in recent days and weeks.

Coincidentally, Musk, who lives in Texas, has contributed $158m to the Senate Leadership Fund, which in turn transferred the same amount to Texas PAC, a Republican super PAC supporting Talarico’s rival Ken Paxton, according to federal filings. Might Musk be getting buyer’s remorse already?
