In a piece on Zack Polanski, the paper picked up on a speech given by the leader of the Green party to the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers’ Union, in which he ran through a series of left-wing grievance points about big supermarkets, how they overwork their employees and make huge profits.

Overall, his remarks weren’t all that surprising for someone who has made it clear he’s on the left of the political spectrum, and not a great fan of big business. However, one thing that Polanski most definitely did not say was that “food is too cheap”.
But that didn’t stop the Telegraph from running with the headline: “Zack Polanski: ‘Food is too cheap’,” putting those incriminating four words inside quote marks to imply that the words belonged to Polanski himself. Which they did not.
Understandably a bit upset by this, Polanski took to social media, commenting that, “We are at the point where the Telegraph are literally making up quotes.” It’s hard to disagree with that. He then added. “Sections of the media are just absolute bullshit.” It’s hard to disagree with that one either.
