It takes something to shock a GB News presenter such is the level of bile spewed on the hard right conspiracist channel – but one guest managed to achieve it last weekend.

Hilary Fordwich, a former head of global business development and sales for accountants KPMG and “a highly sought after speaker” according to her own website, managed to stun presenter Ben Leo after making an apparently serious call for all male asylum seekers to the UK to be castrated.

Speaking on a panel on Leo’s programme, Fordwich, also a former vice president of global marketing at James Martin & Co, said: “I’ve said this before: why on earth do we have the pull factors, and we need to have more deterrents.

“Actually, given the precedents of a lot of these men and what they’ve done in our nation, what if, instead of the pull factors, what if we were to say anyone seeking asylum needs to be castrated due to all the rapes that have been committed? That certainly would be a deterrent.”

Told by Leo that not every asylum seeker is a sex offender, Fordwich went on: “Well, no, but there’s lots of them before which have been. If you did something like that they certainly would not be coming. Why not? They’re invading our nation.”

When Leo threw to fellow guest Matthew Stadlen, a former Daily Telegraph journalist, the latter declined to get involved, saying: “Sorry, I’ll leave it to you Ben. I’ve never seen you shocked by something someone on your – in inverted commas – ‘side of the argument’ has said on GB News.

“I’ve got nothing to say to that. I’ll leave it to you, mate.”

According to her website, among the firms to have booked Fordwich as a “keynote speaker” are Deloitte, pwc (formerly Price Waterhouse Cooper) and Unisys. What intelligent insight they are getting for their presumably not insubstantial sums!
