Who’s behind this billboard ad of Farage and Putin?

Mystery surrounds who has created and put up a billboard ad in an East London street depicting Nigel Farage as a puppet of Vladimir Putin and apparently receiving cash from the Russian president.

The poster, on a side-street in fashionable Hackney, appears to have been installed over the weekend and shows Farage first, as Putin’s puppet, then being x-rayed to reveal coins in place of a spine and, finally, receiving a backhander from the Russian despot.

It follows the jailing last month of Nathan Gill, the former leader of Reform in Wales and Farage’s friend and European Parliament colleague. Gill accepted bribes from Russia in exchange for making speeches on its behalf.

There is of course no suggestion that Farage, or indeed anyone else in his party, has received any money or support from Putin. But it is a very intriguing work of art nonetheless…
