Last week Rats in a Sack reported how the Daily Telegraph had finally hit “Peak Telegraph”, running a comment piece by columnist and disgraced fraudster David Shipley on why Brits should no longer fight to defend their country.
Unambiguously headlined “Patriots should not fight for the British state”, Shipley banged on about the paper’s favourite tropes of immigration, multiculturalism and the like, and came to the conclusion Britain was no longer worth fighting for.
Now actor turned far right activist and very much the Telegraph in human form Laurence “Lozza” Fox has taken that argument to its natural extreme and declared that he would take up arms for a country – if that country were, er, Russia!

Reposting a video on, inevitably, X of Keir Starmer warning of the dangers Europe faced from an increasingly belligerent Russia, Fox wrote “I’d rather fight for Russia against you and your corrupt communist regime. Any day of the week.”
Not a problem, Lozza boy! Russia has recently ramped up its recruitment of foreign fighters through a targeted social media campaign, offering citizenship and money to those who join its fight.
And perhaps Fox could do with a few bob – the acting work has long since dried up and, according to Companies House, the Reclaim Party he still claims to lead (like Nigel Farage’s Reform, it’s actually a company) faces being struck off, having not filed accounts since 2021, or a confirmation statement since 2022. Who’ll chip in to a JustGiving appeal to get Lozza on a flight to Moscow?
