Liz Truss’s short-lived chief of staff (September 2022 to October 2022) Mark Fullbrook appears to be suffering a financial fallout from his blink-and-you’ll-miss-it stint in Downing Street.
New accounts just filed for his PR firm Fullbrook Strategies, which Fullbrook set up in 2022 after parting ways with the Australian political strategist Lynton Crosby, showed a £262,260 loss for the year to March 31. The decline took the company’s retained earnings from £330,222 down to £67,862, with company assets also on the slide, down from £628,698 to £198,793.

The downturn, however, does not appear to have deterred Fullbrook from lurching even further to the right. Last week the firm announced the appointment of Alex Phillips, a former Brexit Party MEP who has also been a member of UKIP and the Conservatives and is now in Reform, as well as presenting for Talk, as a senior advisor.
“Alex knows the inside of politics better than most,” said the firm in its announcement. “She brings sharp strategic thinking, deep relationships across the political landscape and a clear understanding of how media and power really work.”
That’s one way of describing a woman who was an MEP for six months before presenting on a TV channel with so few viewers Rupert Murdoch pulled the plug on it. Perhaps she’ll be advising Nigel Farage very soon…?
