To the list of things that Restore Britain seems to see as undermining our society – immigrants, the BBC, woke, the ban on handguns and HR departments – must now be added another: recently bereaved parents.
Scott Cameron, a Restore member of Warwickshire Council, posted a picture of a local hospital corridor on X with a sign pointing to its Rainbow Suite. “Also, what is this?!,” he wrote – the obvious implication, given it was illustrated with a picture of a rainbow, being that it was somehow related to the LGBT+ community.
What Cameron apparently didn’t know is that rainbow suites or rooms in hospitals are comforting facilities dedicated to maternity care, palliative care or pregnancy loss support. They provide spaces to grieve away from where pregnancy loss may have been diagnosed, making the experience less triggering and more sensitive for families.

When this was pointed out to Cameron – repeatedly – he doubled down, posting “To clarify, this was a question” and then telling followers to “get a grip”.
“I merely asked a question, I followed up with ‘To clarify, this is a question’,” he whinged. “As usual, certain individuals have taken this out of context, politicised it and tried to make out things I’ve said which I didn’t.
“I have never said anything about bereavement for mothers / families. Obviously, to lose a child is a horrific experience. If people want to will fully [sic] twist what I have said, that is on them and shows their true character.”
Yet the implication was clear – shortly before the rainbow suite post, he had posted a picture of a sign at a local GP practice offering out-of-hours translation services. “Welcome the @NHS,” he wrote, incorrectly. “We’re in England, speak bloody English or leave!” No doubt Cameron himself is a multilinguist capable of speaking the local tongue wherever he might suffer an illness on holiday!

Cameron is a relative newbie to Restore, having defected from Reform in February this year having grown frustrated at – checks – the party’s move to the left. He said Nigel Farage’s party had been “losing its way”, become “centrist” and “moved ideologies to win the popularity vote”.
Coincidentally, in his nine months as a Reform councillor he twice ran for the leadership of the group on Warwickshire Council, losing both times, the second to teenager George Finch, who now leads the council. He moaned: “I go to parish council meetings where people say they voted Reform, not for a 19-year-old leader of the council who has no work or life experience and who has never paid council tax.”
Is Councillor Cameron a thick-as-a-brick, bitter moron with a weird predilection for spotting gay propaganda where it doesn’t exist, and with a poor grasp of English despite his insistence that all foreigners must speak it? To clarify – this was a question!
