“First of all, you’re a low-energy wet wipe… whoever the fuck you are, you are on very shaky ground indeed.”
That is part of a ranting private message sent by GB News host Ben Leo to podcast host Don McGowan, who had suggested on X that Leo’s latest stunt for the channel – door-knocking on a street that contained houses of multiple occupancy in which migrants were resident – was ”xenophobic entitlement of the highest order”.
“I advise you to engage the very little brain matter you have before getting yourself in all kinds of trouble,” wrote Leo, going on to claim that McGowan’s posts contained material that was libellous and could “spark violence against me and my children… Police are already investigating multiple serious threats against me and my family from jihadists that have required 24/7 close protection security for a lengthy period of time.”

Is GB News pro- or anti-immigration?
Leo’s recent ragebaity stunts for GB News have included him reporting from a Leicester road “named as the street in Britain with the fewest English speakers”, where he could be seen knocking on doors and asking if the occupants spoke English.
Other channels might have thought twice about using Leo again, but GB News have promoted him. The channel’s migrant-finder general is now migrating to Washington DC, where he will host the channel’s new midnight show The Late Show Live alongside conspiracy theorist Bev Turner.
Ben Briscoe, the channel’s head of programming, gushed: “Ben is a rising star, and a journalist who stands out in an increasingly crowded field… Ben is fast becoming a defining voice of his generation.”
