Ed Davey takes on Oakeshott and Tice

With Donald Trump’s assault on Iran in full swing, a break-out war has been triggered rather closer to home: between Reform’s leading couple Richard Tice and Isabel Oakeshott, and Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey.

Oakeshott, now resident in Dubai after being forced out of the UK by the tyrannical Keir Starmer regime and its imposition of VAT on private school fees for the children of wealthy journalists, has been reporting from the ground as Iran responds with attacks on neighbouring nations, offering Talk’s tiny band of viewers such military analysis as “there was a series of very loud blasts”.

But her presence seemed to trigger Davey, who used his response to Starmer’s statement in the House of Commons yesterday to call out tax-avoiding British migrants, and Oakeshott in particular by name.

“We rightly expect our brave armed forces to protect British citizens around the world in crises like this, but that includes tax exiles like Isabel Oakeshott and washed-up old footballers who mock ordinary people who stay in the UK and pay our taxes here,” he said. “As we protect them, does the prime minister agree that it is only right for tax exiles to start paying taxes to fund our armed forces, just like the rest of us do?”

Starmer avoided the question, but Richard Tice, Reform’s deputy leader and Oakeshott’s partner, did not, shouting at Davey “Coward!” Alas, Hansard’s stenographers declined to register it.

Both Oakeshott and Tice have now turned on Davey, with Oakeshott going on Talk to speak to presenter Kevin O’Sullivan (who, hilariously, referred to the Lib Dem leader as “Sir Ed Idiot”). “I’m gonna take this as a badge of honour,” said Oakeshott. “What’s he like? He’s like a talking potato, isn’t he, standing up there, you know, having a go at so-called tax exiles.”

Meanwhile, Tice himself posted “Back off my fiancée” and outdid O’Sullivan’s quip with the nickname “No Brains Ed Davey”, while his chief whip, Lee Anderson, remarked: “A quick slap with the white gloves is in order.”

Lawks! What fun World War III is turning out to be!
