Plenty of Tory politicos have defected to Reform in the last few months. But one Reform councillor has now made an entirely different political journey – defecting from Reform to the UK Independence Party!
Amelia Randall, a member of Kent Council who was a member of Reform so recently she actually attended its annual conference in Birmingham at the weekend, has announced her move to Ukip, now a tiny fringe operation focused on an extreme Christian fundamentalist agenda.

The Reform party’s Jungle roots
Just last week Randall was enthusiastically reposting messages on X that “Britain needs Reform”. But this week she was announcing that she was “delighted to have been accepted into UKIP” and writing that “We must carry out Mass Deportations and we must embed Christianity back into the soul of our country. Only then can we truly save Britain and Take Our Country Back”.
Reform have denounced the councillor’s move and demand she resigns to spark a by-election, something which none of the councillors who have defected to Reform in recent months have done.
It’s a major coup for Ukip, who have boosted the number of elected officials they have across the UK from, er, zero to one, having been completely wiped out following the 2023 local elections. Still, Randall herself might have been expected to see it coming – she describes herself as a “psychic clairvoyant”, or at least did on the Companies House records of her firm Mystic Psychic Ltd until it was dissolved in 2021 after failing to submit accounts.
